What kinds of files can I share?+
Code and plain-text files up to 5 MB — configs, notes, snippets, logs and more. Kodey detects the language from the file extension so the shared view is syntax-highlighted.
Does Kodey execute uploaded code?+
No. File Drop shares uploaded files as text only. Kodey never executes uploaded code.
Do I need a Kodey account?+
No. Guests can drop files right away with 24-hour or 7-day links. A free account adds the option to save a drop into your Code Library.
How long do File Drop links last?+
Guest and free accounts can create links that expire after 24 hours or 7 days. Kodey Pro adds 30-day links and links that never expire.
Can someone download my file?+
Only if you allow it. Every drop has an Allow download toggle you can switch on or off at any time.
Can I revoke a File Drop link?+
Yes. Revoke a drop from the result panel and the link stops working immediately.
Can I save a Drop to my Code Library?+
Yes. When you're signed in, Save to Code Library stores the file in a permanent Drops folder, where you can open and move it like any other library document.
